Two CX photo sequences

The Dab....

No, the lesson here should not be taken to be dabbing as an offensive means to open an immediate 2 second gap. No, the lesson here is defensive driving - if you get caught with nowhere to go, right on the wheel of the guy who dabs, or on the wheel of the guy on the wheel of the guy who dabs, your gonna have an immediate 2 second gap opened up on you by the offending dabber. The first dab is always the fastest back up. We've all been on both sides of this occurance.

There's a lot to be learned just watching a CX race.
For example: I figured out how to get in Pat's head.... he know's I'm gonna try to knock him over when he rides by...
At this point, he's seen me and you'll notice he's already looking for a spot to land. We both know what's coming. I'm lowering a shoulder.
I've realized at this point I don't need to hit him with the shoulder, and step back to take another pic. He's picked his spot....

After making sure he's alright, I start laughing, fairly hard, and Pat starts calling me names for having gotten into his head so effectively that I only need look at him to knock him over.
To be fair and paint the real picture - Pat's little digger took place on one of the slickest spots on the course that day, it victimized more than a few good riders.
